The New Year Challange
Posted on: Wed Dec 05, 2012 1:28 pm by: Slipstream0

First off, my appologies to everyone for dropping off minecraft and the forums, life got crazy, got married, and have a baby on the way! YAY! :D

That said, the new year is quickly aproaching. This always drives me to look back over the year. One thing I saw is how many games I purchased and never finished, or even played! So, with that in mind, I am issuing a challange of sorts to myself, and anyone who would like to join me. That challange is to spend no more than $200 on gaming next year. Thats less than 4 brand-new games. This includes purchases of add-ons and expansions, video game, card games, & tabletop, but not sales tax, or the one collectors edition game I have on pre-order (Injustice FTW!!). I plan to do this by taking advantage of already having PS+ for a year, Steam Sales, trade-in credit, and actually beating some of the games I already have.

So I ask, who is with me?

Every time...

To downgrade to MineCraft 1.3.2 and play on GDHQ (The 1.4.2 server that is out is world-breaking bad. This is why we don't run dev versions) you can use the minecraft.jar found here: http://assets.minecraft.net/1_3_2/minecraft.jar Please remember that we are a CraftBukkit server. There is always a delay between MineCraft updating and CraftBukkit updating. If we were to use the Mojang server software, Towny would be dead, Logblock would be dead, iConomy would be dead...It would be exactly the same as singleplayer, but with more than one person. No mods at all.

News for 1.4
Posted on: Thu Oct 25, 2012 6:36 pm by: generilisk

Regarding when we'll update:
EvilSeph wrote:
With the Minecraft 1.4 release date fast approaching, a lot of people are wondering when we will be releasing a CraftBukkit Recommended Build for Minecraft 1.4. We hope this short announcement will answer those questions.

Due to the rapid release of preview builds for the impending 1.4 update, we are unable to guarantee that we'll have a compatible CraftBukkit Recommended Build out in time for the release of Minecraft 1.4.2. Although we started working on the update immediately after the Minecraft 1.4 preview was made available to the public, each new preview build leads to delays in our update process as we, essentially, need to start over with each one.

In the past releasing a Recommended Build has caused apparent confusion within the community, as a result for this release, and moving forward, we will follow the "Dev -> Beta -> Recommended Build" release methodology. We are going to release a Beta build as soon as we can get a stable build devoid of any significant bugs.

As we have done a significant amount of important work on CraftBukkit 1.3.2 builds, we have promoted a new Recommended Build recently. This was done so that people have a reliable, stable build to use until we can get a 1.4 compatible build out and so that everyone who relies on Recommended Builds are able to take advantage of all the fixes, improvements and so on we've done since the last 1.3.2 RB.

Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support; we greatly appreciate it!
Bukkit is our server software. They didn't get 1.4 till today either, so they need to figure out how to make things work so we're not crash central. The update will be here the same day it's done.
1.4 will NOT require a new world to be generated.

It's ALIVE!!
Posted on: Mon Apr 16, 2012 10:20 pm by: generilisk

The GDHQ Minecraft server is back up, and better than ever, with a shiney new arena and more fitting spawn city, which will play a part in several of the upcoming features we have planned. I'm not going to give more than that away, though.

Forum Bugs
Posted on: Wed Mar 28, 2012 10:59 am by: Slipstream0

Im sure everyone has seen the error messages along the top of the forum, DO NOT FEAR!
They are just minor bugs from the server migration. While I was hoping I would be able to hand-code them out, its not working, so sometime in the next few days you may see the forums offline as I re-install it to clear the bugs. A backup of the forum will be made, so nothing should be lost.

Donations are back up!
Posted on: Mon Feb 27, 2012 3:29 pm by: Slipstream0

So, the donation link is working again, and just in time! Our website renewal is due next month. To renew it, and keep the domain and all our content runs about $100 a year, so anything anyone feels like pitching in is appriciated!

Also - We have seen requests to start servers for other games pop up. We will be more than happy to add a few more games to the server, but we need to be able to buy the game first. In order to do that, we need donations. Keep an eye out here as well will post a poll soon to find the most requested game and start taking donation to get it on the server!
